Caritas is an organization to help the homeless.
칼질 안 하고 싶은 사람? Hands up.
So I chose to put bread on trays. After putting all the bread on trays, I wrapped the trays and put them to the refrigerator.
After displaying, I chose a job.
I picked Floater, who dries dishes and cups as well as helps the handicapped and bring the things run out of in the hall and gave new one to the hall.
The hall and kitchen were very hectic so all the volunteers were busy doing their part and nobody became lazy till the end. We all worked really hard. All the stuff made us exhausted and hungry, but it was nice experience and I was happy to help others and talk with a peer volunteer in English even though work was hard.
There are many homeless people living in Austin and they smelled so bad so I wonder what if there would be free shower like free meal?
When we were asked whether there are some meal volunteering for the homeless in Korea, I didn’t come up with right away, but after a few seconds, I thought it’s rare to see same volunteering since it is difficult to find the homeless in Korea unlike the US. I just could see most free meal volunteering events for the old who live alone.
The teacher who led us to volunteer misunderstood that Caritas serves lunch after volunteer works but it doesn't give meals to volunteers. Instead, TIEP bought our lunch so we had lunch, Super Family Pack at Bert's Bar-B-Q with Jo. Brisket, Sausage, Chicken, Coleslaw, potato salad, pinto beans all were nice.
